Principal's Message
Welcome to Russell County High School, home of the Lakers! It is an honor to serve as the principal of a school that is committed to academic excellence, student growth, and preparing young adults for success beyond the classroom. At RCHS, we strive to provide a well-rounded education that challenges our students to think critically, work collaboratively, and pursue their passions. Guided by our motto, Forward Ever, Backward Never, we are dedicated to helping each student move confidently toward a bright future.
Our success is built on strong partnerships between students, families, educators, and the community. We encourage parents and guardians to stay involved, support their students, and celebrate their achievements. Together, we will make this a year of learning, growth, and Laker pride. The dates for 2025-26 Kindergarten Registration have been announced by the three elementary schools in our district. Included is information regarding age requirements and which records to bring with the child.

Mission Statement
The mission of Russell County High School is to provide students with the opportunity to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills in order to become self-sufficient, responsible members of society. The RCHS faculty and staff recognize that all students have the ability to learn, and our role is to help them apply knowledge from various subject matter fields to real-life experiences and to show them the necessity of becoming life-long learners.
